New York City Welcomes The Aviary This Summer


Chef Grant Achatz and Nick Kokonas Bring Alinea Group To New York


Alinea Group's cocktail lounge, The Aviary, will open at Mandarin Oriental, New York this summer.
Following the success of the award-winning Aviary in Chicago, The Aviary NYC will deliver a distinctive culinary approach to cocktails and service. Guests will enjoy an interactive experience, featuring an open kitchen where inventive cocktails and small food plates that complement the drink experience, will be masterminded by chefs and bartenders. 
The Aviary NYC will reflect the core principles of the Chicago flagship while taking inspiration from the historically-rich cocktail culture of New York City. Set on the 35th floor of Mandarin Oriental, New York, The Aviary NYC will comprise 90 seats and feature sweeping views of Central Park and the New York City skyline. An adjacent space, The Office, will provide a speakeasy-style cloistered and more private environment, with 40 seats. This will feature a world-class rare spirits collection, classic cocktails, and an entirely different food menu from that offered at The Aviary. 


The Aviary's dining options,  offer a la carte snacks and dim sum bites, to shareable plates and thoughtful progressive tasting menus, Aviary cuisine provides sustenance while mimicking the style, creativity and spirit of the masterfully curated beverage program. The Aviary offers an exclusive seven-course food and cocktail menu inside the Aviary Kitchen at the Kitchen Table.

Cocktails and service are given the same attention to detail as a four-star restaurant; where bartenders are trained as chefs; where the produce and herbs are carefully sourced and procured fresh daily; where the name and branding of the spirit mixed is less important than its actual flavor; where drinks are made quickly and consistently in a state-of-the-art drink kitchen; where innovation and tradition are both honored.
