Le Premier Hôtel of Fauchon, Paris Set To Open in 2018

L'épicier de luxe Fauchon has announced a 54-room partnership, with luxury hotel group Esprit de France

Fauchon's first, 5-star hotel,  is set to open at Place de la Madeleine, Paris in 2018. At 51% owned by the family holding company of Michel Ducros, majority shareholder of Fauchon, and 49% by Esprit de France, the creation of this joint venture will be finalized by early February. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.

The association "meets a clearly defined strategy of development of the Fauchon brand in gastronomy and the art of French living in its contemporary style, a world which Fauchon now exports around the world," explained Michel Ducros.

54 rooms La Madeleine

The project to create the first Fauchon Hotel Madeleine, about 200 meters from the famous Fauchon shop and café (founded in 1886), was announced in September. Located at the corner of the Place de Madeleine and Boulevard Malesherbes, the building that will host the project is owned by the Qatar National Bank which will finance most of the work. Spirit of France (a subsidiary of Compagnie Lebon) will manage the hotel and Fauchon will manage the restaurant.

The Haussmann style building, which will showcase 54 rooms, including 22 suites, as well as the restaurant (the Fauchon cafe, is currently located on the first floor of the historic store and will be transferred to the new facility) with a capacity of 150 seats including a terrace facing L'église de la Madeleine.
